A feature of the Point Chevalier community for over 70 years, Selwyn Village provides high-quality independent living accommodation and residential care for more than 600 residents, and specialised dementia programmes at its welcoming and homely ‘Lavender Cottage’ day centre. The depth and breadth of social, cultural, spiritual and educational events that take place across the village throughout the year, bringing together residents and staff alike, create a tangible sense of belonging and connection for all.

Our Hansen Close village in Roseberry Avenue, Birkenhead, is a ‘boutique’ retirement community comprising 12 independent living villas and the separate Selwyn House shared living residence on Auckland’s North Shore. The village is close to Birkenhead town centre, yet shares the tranquil surroundings of a mature residential environment. Residents of Hansen Close also enjoy full access to the lifestyle amenities of Selwyn Village and the active social calendar of events and activities.

Offering a wide range of independent living options and residential care across 26 acres of landscaped grounds, our iconic Selwyn Village with its Chapel of Christ the King at its heart is a thriving community on the banks of the Waitematā Harbour. A distinctive quality of the village is the mutual respect and collaborative outlook that exist between residents, village staff and the wider Selwyn management team which are the basis of its vibrant, community-focussed and supportive atmosphere.

We aim to optimise your wellbeing by providing opportunities to engage in what is important to you and so you feel part of a supportive, caring community. Our Chaplaincy team

Our chaplains play an active part in all aspects of village life, and the availability of chaplaincy services is much appreciated by all. Working across both residential care and independent living, the chaplains provide spiritual and pastoral support to residents, their families and our staff members. A range of weekly worship services and opportunities for spiritual support, contemplation and reflection are offered according to residents’ preference and particular needs and interests.
